1. What type of portrait sessions do you offer?
We specialize in Newborn and Maternity, Family and Couple, Children and High School Senior Portraits. We do not offer Bridal Portraits or Wedding Photography, Event Photography, or Commercial Photography, however we can refer you to wonderfully talented photographers who do specialize in those types of photography.
2. Can we purchase images on CD?
Photographic Designs is a Professional Portrait Studio, and therefore we do not offer copyright released images on CD as quality in our images and our final products are of the utmost importance to the integrity of the business and our reputation. We do, however, have an iPhoto CD option which includes all ordered images at low resolution for screen purposes only, such as sharing on Facebook, digital frames, cell phones, screensavers, etc. These are not for printing purposes however.
3. What style and sizes of portraits do you offer?
Photographic Designs specializes in custom wall portraiture and home décor of your portraits. We offer an array of portrait styles such as Classic (framed and unframed), Canvas Wrapped (framed and unframed), Wood Wrapped, Lighted Panels, Murals, Acrylics, and Metal in most sizes 11×14 through 50×100. Tabletop and gift portraits are available in 5×7 and larger.
4. What if I have more than 5 people in my family?
An upgrade may be purchased for families larger than 5 people for $50. Groups over 10 may purchase an upgrade for $75. Groups of 15 or more will need to ask for an upgrade quote depending on the size of the group and ages of children.
5. Does your studio offer Greeting Cards?
Photographic Designs primarily specializes in wall portraits and home décor for our clients, however we do have Greeting Cards available as an option for clients who spend $500 or more on portraits. Images chosen for greeting cards must be from images purchased as portraits.
6. How far in advance should I book my consultation?
We recommend contacting the studio as soon as possible to book your consultation. Location sessions often book out months in advance and are very limited, especially on the weekends.
For newborn portraits, we schedule the session for when the baby will be 5-10 days old and therefore need to start planning well before baby arrives.
7. Can I trade the 11×14 for something else?
We are unable to split the 11×14 credit into smaller multiple portraits. However, you can use the 11×14 credit towards an upgrade to a larger piece wall portrait and/or to a specialty style of portrait.
8. What locations do you offer and can I have my portrait session on the grounds of my home?
Several options are available for your portrait session that Photographic Designs has permits to such as Philbrook Museum of Art, Tulsa Parks and Recreational Areas, Privately owned local area property. A portrait session on the grounds of your home may be an option for an additional charge, as Rachel must scout the location first to determine if the location is suitable for portraits of her artistic style. Areas outside of the Tulsa/Jenks area will also incur a mileage charge at the standard US mileage rate.
9. I don’t see candid, black and white outdoor portraits, or another specific style on your site, but that is the style I want. Can you do that?
While we do collaborate for the best portraits for your family of your likes,dislikes, and personal taste, Rachel has a specific style to her portrait work. If you are wanting for example: candid snapshot type of photography, then Photographic Designs is not the right match for you and we do not recommend that you purchase the Groupon. Please take the time to look through our online galleries and portfolios before purchasing a Groupon to know if our style is well suited for you.
10. What are your portrait packages and prices?
We understand that each of our clients have different needs and wants, and therefore do not offer set packages. Instead, clients purchase a la carte and then can create their own package through our gift print (duplicate portraits) pricing. A sample of our pricing can be found at:
As we have several style and sizing options available along with custom books, albums, and framing options, access to the full pricing will be available following your consultation once you are familiar with style and quality of each of the items we offer.
11. Are pets allowed on sessions?
Yes, however some locations such as Philbrook museum does not allow pets on the grounds. Multiple pets may require an upgrade depending on number and type of animals.
12. I have purchased a Groupon in the past, can I purchase one again?
The purpose of the Groupon is to invite new people to give us a try and find out what we are all about at a special rate. Therefore the Groupon is for new clients only.
